Gradam Phobail Chiarraí – Kerry Community Awards

Celebrating Community Excellence

Listowel Community Centre is honoured to have been recognised with a Gradam Phobail Chiarraí (Kerry Community Award), a prestigious accolade presented by Kerry County Council to celebrate exceptional contributions to community life across the county, held on 18th September 2025 at The Rose Hotel, Tralee.

This recognition is is a testament to the hard work, passion and commitment of our staff, volunteers and supporters who continue to make the centre a vibrant and welcoming hub for people of all ages and backgrounds.. The award highlights the centre’s enduring commitment to fostering socioeconomic development, inclusion, wellbeing, culture and community spirit in Listowel and the wider North Kerry area, while improving our sustainable practices. Through our extensive programmes, inclusive events and dedication to supporting people of all ages and backgrounds, the centre continues to be a cornerstone of local life.

Certificate of Recognition

On 29th February 2024, Listowel Community Centre was formally honoured with a Certificate of Recognition by Cathaoirleach Jimmy Moloney of the Listowel Municipal District, Kerry County Council.

This special presentation acknowledges the centre’s long-standing dedication to serving the people of Listowel and the wider North Kerry area – recognising such an enduring pillar of local life.. Through its wide range of recreational, educational and community-focused programmes, Listowel Community Centre has played a vital role in promoting health, wellbeing, inclusion, economic development and social connection. The award is a reflection of the centre’s continued efforts to enrich the lives of residents of all ages and its invaluable contribution to strengthening community ties across the district.

Honouring Years of Dedicated Community Service at the Meadowlands Hotel, Tralee.

We are proud to that Listowel Community Centre has been awarded a Certificate of Appreciation by the Health Service Executive (HSE), in recognition of the centre’s many years of dedicated and valuable service to the community.

This meaningful honour reflects the centre’s unwavering commitment to enhancing the overall health and wellbeing of individuals and families across North Kerry. Over the years, the centre has worked in close partnership with health and community organisations to deliver inclusive programmes, promote active living and support mental, social and physical wellness.

The HSE’s recognition stands as a testament to the hard work, vision and community spirit that define the centre’s mission. It celebrates the countless hours contributed by staff, volunteers and local partners who have made the centre a trusted hub of support and connection for people of all ages.
