At Listowel Community Centre, we believe in the power of making a concerted effort to support community development – focused and committed to create a positive impact in the community – to enhance our socioeconomic and environmental responsibilities. Corporate social responsibility is at the core of our community development plans which is continually blended into our daily activities.
Actively involved with many community groups, our vision and shared values are embodied in all that our team does, to achieve our strategic CSR initiatives. Listowel Community Centre’s core ethos: “Community is at the Centre” creates vibrancy in our philanthropic responsibilities – to make our society a better place which nurtures diversity, inclusivity and equality whilst embracing change.
Since our establishment in 1983, Listowel Community Centre has contributed financial, skills and time values to our community. We are proud to work closely with community-led initiatives and build close relationships with all stakeholders. Dynamically involved as CSR brand ambassadors, there are many facets to the activities we undertake and are involved in.

North Kerry Eagles Special Olympics
Trevor Horan works with the North Kerry Eagles for the last year for the Special Olympics event – taking place in Cork, in 2025.
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
Embracing the 3R’s of sustainability – Reduce, Reuse, Recyle, empowering our team to take active roles in environmental protection.
Donating Community Services
Listowel Community Centre donate financial, skills and time values to many activities and community groups.
St John of God Community Services
Our team continuously work with St John of God community services to support adults and children with intellectual disabilities.
Listowel Family Resource Centre
Supporting Listowel Family Resource Centre in meeting family needs and helping the community in a supportive and inclusive environment.
SuperValu Tidy Towns
Actively supporting Listowel Tidy Towns to enhance the local environment – making our heritage town sustainable and attractive throughout the year
Rehab Group, County Kerry
Working closely with Kerry’s Rehab Group to enhance their overall health, physical and mental wellbeing in a supportive gym environment.
Nano Nagle, Listowel
Listowel Community Centre has recently collaborated with Nano Nagle, Listowel to promote their physical and mental wellbeing in a supportive and inclusive environment.
As I Am, County Kerry
Listowel Community Centre actively supports As I Am on their board of management to make our heritage town an autism friendly town – “autism acceptance and community inclusion”.
Resilience Healthcare
Supporting individuals in the care of Resilience Healthcare by creating physical activity plans to suit their needs and enhance their overall health.
Kerry Youthreach
Actively working with Kerry Youthreach to support the youth in our community – providing gym instructors, hall hire and physical exercise plans.
Ukraine Community and IPIs
Welcoming Ukraine to BASE Gym, supporting their overall wellbeing through exercise, nutrition plans and workshops in the centre to make their experience more inclusive, accessible, affordable and supportive.
Kerry Travellers
Listowel Community Centre supports Kerry Traveller groups in the local area by providing workshops in vocatioonal skills, personal trainer advice and nutritional advice.
Rumble in Listowel
Hosting charitable events such as The Rumble in Listowel for 2yr old Axel Horgan which took place in Listowel Community Centre 7th September, 2024.
